Like the Protos, the Skim has a foam fractionator that removes harmful substances. The difference between the Protos and the Skim is that the Skim is designed specifically designed for live holding systems and closed circuits and can treat different volumes of water.
The Skim is a foam fractionator where contaminates trapped in the foam rise to the top to be extracted while the treated water is discharged from the bottom of the chamber. The Skim can be used for any application to remove organic proteins and fine particles in existing aquaculture recirculation system, depuration, or live holding installation at a flow rate of 26,400 gallons (100 cubic meters) of water per hour. The Skim can maintain up to 19,000 lbs of shellfish in a closed system with no water exchange.
